About

A carpenter's firm, built around old ones

Kettle Hill Restoration is six people who would rather repair a sill than replace a house.

Fiona Atwood trained as a carpenter and started the firm to do the kind of work that doesn't fit a quote made in an hour. Every job begins with a survey, and everything that follows comes from what the survey found. We do the work ourselves, and we sub out only what needs a trade we don't have, like electrical or an engineer's stamp.

How we work

Three habits

  • Say what we find

The report goes to you whole, including the parts that don't help us sell the work.

  • Repair first

We replace only what can't be repaired, and we mark what's new.

  • Show you the wall

Whatever we open, you see before we close it.
