Not for us
What we turn down
A short list, so no one spends a survey day finding out.
New houses
We repair and restore buildings that already have a story. We don't build from a bare lot.
Roof-only jobs
We repair the framing under a roof and the flashing at a chimney. Roof coverings alone are a roofer's trade.
Work in other counties
We keep to Putnam and Dutchess so the people who survey are the people who build.
About the work
Do you do kitchens and bathrooms?
Only inside an old house where the frame, floor or plaster around them needs the work too. We don't take stand-alone fit-outs.
Can you match new timber to old?
Closely. Species, section and joinery are matched; the age of the wood can't be, so we mark new work where it isn't obvious.
Who draws plans if I need them?
We make measured sketches during the survey. If a project needs an architect or an engineer's stamp, we work with the one you choose or suggest some.

Tell us about the building and we'll write back about a date.
